Leading Edge Attachments, Inc. introduces the new style Multi-Ripper “V” Bucket for Utility Contractors working in rock. The Multi-Ripper V Bucket works on the same principal as the award winning “SHARC™” (SHanks on an ARC) Multi-Ripper and the standard Multi-Ripper Bucket, except it cuts a “V” shape in the rock. Some utility contractors like the V trench bottom shape because it saves them from having to rip out and back-fill the corners of the rock trench while also making a nice groove for the pipe to lay in.
The Multi-Ripper V Bucket utilizes the patent pending “SHARC” (Shanks on an ARC) Technology, meaning that the bucket functions similarly to that of a trencher except it uses the hydraulic excavator rolling action to rip. The staggered ripper teeth fracture the substrate in sequential order. No two ripper teeth align with each other, so that the maximum breakout force is applied sequentially to each tooth. The rolling of the Multi-Ripper Bucket, by extending the bucket cylinder, always provides the full multiplied breakout force individually on each tooth so that the substrate is ripped out by each individual tooth lifting action. The operator does not drag the bucket, he constantly rolls the bucket to achieve the highest breakout forces. The result is a V-shaped ripped bottom surface due to the fact that the ripper tooth tips are positioned and angled such that the center of rotation is close to the excavator bucket pivot.
The
performance of this style bucket exceeds all other
manufacturer designs of rock, or frost, V ripper bucket combinations.
The Multi-Ripper
V Bucket is the highest quality and most productive ripper bucket
combination
available on the market for the utility contractor requiring this
trench shape,
and has patents pending worldwide. The model shown is for
a
Caterpillar 345 excavator.
