LEA Multi-Ripper Products have shown to replace hammers, blasting and rock trenchers, for a fraction of the cost. Designed mainly for utility pipeline contractors, the new Multi-Ripper Talon Bucket works on the same principal as the award winning Multi-Ripper Bucket, except the bucket is very narrow, and the leading edges have been redesigned so that the center rib can be eliminated, thus improving capacity fill and dumping for a narrow bucket. The performance of this style bucket greatly exceeds all other designs of rock bucket ripper combinations and has saved hundreds of thousands of dollars by avoiding the use of rock trenchers, hammers and blasting. The Multi-Ripper Talon Bucket is the newest addition to the highest quality and most productive rock ripper bucket combinations available on the market.
The Multi-Ripper Talon Bucket utilizes the worldwide patented SHARCTM (SHanks on an ARC) Technology, meaning that the bucket functions similarly to that of a trencher except it uses the hydraulic excavator rolling action to rip. The staggered ripper teeth fracture the substrate in sequential order, so that the rolling of the Multi-Ripper Talon Bucket, by extending the bucket cylinder, always provides maximum breakout force applied sequentially to each tooth, one tooth at a time. How does it do this?
These products rip rock up to 4 times faster than a hammer. They rip 10 times faster than a single pointed ripper. They greatly exceed all other designs of frost rock, or ripper buckets on the market. They rip to all depths leaving relatively flat bottom and side walls in the trench. The staggered shanks on an arc hit one at a time allowing the maximum breakout to be applied to each tooth. The tooth force is about 8 times that of a standard 5 tooth bucket because the shanks are short. Also, the shanks are the same distance from the stick pivot, so the shanks rip a relatively flat bottom.

Hard-facing can actually cause damage to the HARDOX material by inducing tiny cracks in the material, and will thus void our warranty. If any welding is required or desired, please contact LEA, Inc.
